In late April August, Orion and I skinned up the standard route on Quandary Peak, and then went back down pretty much the same way (except August was on his splitboard). We had about 8" of fresh powder, though it got a bit heavy near the bottom. By dropping north into the woods at treeline and then picking up the road, we were able to make it all the way to the car on snow. The weather at the summit was a bit brisk, but otherwise it was a beautiful day.
