There were three major difficulties on this trip. The first was crossing Half Moon Creek to get to the road leading up to the base of the couloir. The creek was quite high, and crossing with skis and an ice axe on a slippery log was quite daunting. The second difficulty was the wetness of the snow. Not so hot. The third was the seal on my upper radiator hose blowing when I arrived at the trailhead. It was lots of fun, you can imagine, to nurse the car back to Boulder with a radiator leaking like a sieve.
