University of Colorado High Energy Physics Computing

An introduction to CUHEP computing

The CUHEP computing system consists of approximately 275 hosts. The majority of these hosts are in 2 separate farms, lnxfarm and beowulf. lnxfarm is used by the experimentalist and beowulf is used by the theory group. All of these machines are Linux machines, the majority of which are Intel based with only 20 currently being AMD based. The system also contains approximately 30 T-Bytes of disk space, the majority of which is EIDE RAID5 arrays. Jobs are controlled on the system by the Sun SGE batch scheduler. There are about 250 experimental batch slots and about 36 theory batch slots.

The contact person for CUHEP computing is Douglas Johnson ()
